In Loving Memory

Halijah Mclean-Goldman
July 19, 1968 — March 13, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Halijah McLean-Goldman, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on March 13, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 19, 1968, in the warm embrace of Lumberton, North Carolina, Halijah was the cherished daughter of the late Elijah McLean and the late Bessie Mae McLean.
Halijah’s journey was marked by a profound strength and an unwavering dedication to her family. She was a beacon of love and resilience, whose life was a testament to the power of familial bonds and enduring spirit. Her marriage to Dennis Goldman, though cut short by his untimely passing at the age of 25, was filled with love and shared dreams. Together, they laid the foundation for a legacy of love that would guide Halijah throughout her life.
In the late 1990s, Halijah embarked on a new chapter in Jacksonville, Florida, creating a home filled with laughter and love for her children. Family was at the heart of everything Halijah did. Her joy was found in the simplest moments: crocheting beautiful pieces that warmed her loved ones, and embarking on memorable trips that filled their hearts with joy and laughter.
Halijah’s life was a tapestry woven with love and warmth. She leaves behind her cherished children: Qunitah S. McLean, Tomasa K. McLean, Michael McLean, Daniel McLean, Frank McLean, Joshua McLean, Edward McLean, Joseph McLean, Eugene McLean, and Samuel McLean, as well as her beloved stepdaughter, Denise Fuller. They carry with them the strength and love that Halijah instilled in each of them.
Preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Bessie Mae McLean, and her husband, Dennis Goldman, Halijah is now reunited with them in eternal peace. Her legacy of love and kindness remains a guiding light for her family and friends, whose lives she touched so deeply.
In honoring Halijah’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life, allowing her family and close friends to reflect on the warmth and grace she brought into their lives.
Halijah McLean-Goldman will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her nurturing heart, and the enduring love she bestowed upon her family. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May her spirit find peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all.
