Gwendolyn Roberta Boozer, a cherished daughter, sister, partner, mother, and friend, was born on April 8, 1963, in Athens, Georgia. She peacefully departed this life on September 18, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.
Gwendolyn was the beloved daughter of the late Cora Hitchcock Jordan and Robert Boozer. She grew up in a home filled with love and laughter, nurtured by her parents' guidance and the lively company of her siblings. Though she faced the loss of her parents and her brothers, Larry Jordan, Anthony Jordan, and Wayne Jordan, Gwendolyn's sense of family remained unshakeable, and her spirit resilient.
A proud product of the Clarke County School System, Gwendolyn valued education and the lifelong friendships she formed during those formative years. Her faith journey began early when she joined the Huff Grove Baptist Church, where she found a loving community that enriched her spiritual life and inspired her dedication to service.
For over three decades, Gwendolyn shared a beautiful life with her devoted life partner, Lionel Travis Stokes. Their relationship was a testament to unwavering love, companionship, and mutual respect. Together, they built a life filled with joy and shared dreams.
A loving and nurturing mother, Gwendolyn was blessed with two children, Deanna and Melboris Mitchell, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through them and her 21 grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring bonds of family and the warmth of her heart.
Gwendolyn is survived by her devoted partner, Lionel, her children, and her siblings Eleanor Mitchell Hull, Dimitri (Patricia) Jordan, Joyce Sims, Rodney Jordan, and Stacy Jackson, who will all cherish her memory. Her extended family and numerous friends also feel the impact of her loss, but they find solace in the many cherished memories shared over the years.
In remembrance of Gwendolyn's generous spirit and loving nature, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, honoring her passion for helping others and making the world a better place.
