May 13, 1969 — May 16, 2026

In loving memory of Gwen Elizabeth Pliler, we announce her peaceful passing on May 16, 2026, at her home in Aloha, Oregon, shortly after her first treatment for ovarian cancer. Born to Robert Eugene Pliler and Anna Mae Suggs on May 13, 1969, Gwen's 57 years were a testament to a life lived with grace, dedication and profound love. Gwen grew up in Aloha and decided to stay and put down roots in the area of her childhood, where she grew from a shy, loving child into the extraordinary woman we came to know and love. Her career spanned over ??? two decades at Jacobs Heating and Air Conditioning, where she held progressively responsible roles. Her colleagues remember her not only for her work ethic but for her kindness, dedication, and thoughtful approach to every task and interaction. Outside of her professional life, Gwen was always a gracious hostess and skilled cook and baker, preparing delicious dishes that brought her family together over holidays and celebrations, and created cherished memories. She loved exploring all that the area around her home had to offer, especially going to the beach for a weekend, and creating meaningful experiences with her daughter, who was the greatest love and joy in her life. She enjoyed cultural experiences, frequently attending ballets, theater, and musical performances. Gwen also had a keen eye for interior design, often spending weekends browsing for unique pieces to beautify her living space and decorate for holidays. Her favorite flower was the peony and her favorite color was blue. Gwen had an unusually remarkable gentle demeanor, empathy, endless patience, and a self-sacrificial nature that prioritized the well-being of others over her own comfort. Her genuine thoughtfulness and rare ability to offer comfort through silence made her a beacon of quiet compassion in a loud and chaotic world. Her presence brightened the lives of all who knew her, and her absence is profoundly felt. Gwen is survived by her beloved daughter, Ella Grace Grunwald, and her dog, Leo. She also leaves behind her sisters, Amy Ellen Knoedler, Karen Marie Stiltner, and Sara Fay Pliler, and her brother, Dale Henry Pliler, who will forever cherish their memories of a sister whose love knew no bounds. A service to honor Gwen's life will be held on June ??, 2026, at ????? at the Forest Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church, located in Forest Grove, Oregon. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating the remarkable life of a woman who touched so many with her quiet strength and unwavering love. The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone for their kind outpouring of support during this difficult time. Gwen's legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in God's gentle embrace, forever remembered and cherished.
