Guy's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing. He never missed an opportunity to cast a line in a lake, river, stream, or local farm pond. His close friends referred to him as "Spanky", a nickname he acquired in the Navy. He was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins/Commanders, an avid reader of the newspaper, a crossword puzzle expert, and loved to eat Maryland crabs in the summertime. He also enjoyed duckpin bowling and playing softball with his work friends, creating cherished memories and lifelong friendships.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sandra, his children, grandchildren, and his sister Paula Jean Askey (Roger), and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, Russell Brown Hayslett.
