Guy Fred Wheeler Jr

March 28, 1956 — August 20, 2026

Guy Fred Wheeler Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2026. Born on March 28, 1956, in Coldwater, Michigan, Guy was a man of strength, resilience, and unyielding love for his family and friends. Guy was the cherished son of Guy and Wilma Wheeler. Growing up in Coldwater, he graduated from Coldwater High School, laying the foundation for a life full of dedication and hard work. As a young man, Guy worked in agriculture, tending to the family farm, and later moved into the manufacturing industry, where he honed his skills in machinery maintenance. Known for his ability to fix nearly anything, he was a valued employee at Airway Manufacturing, where he served as the union president for a decade before his retirement in 2022. In May of 1979, Guy married the love of his life, Linda in his hometown. Their union, which spanned 51 years, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised two children, Fred Wheeler III and Yolonda Wheeler, who were the pride and joy of his life. Guy was an adventurous spirit with a passion for cars, motorcycles, and the great outdoors. An avid car enthusiast in his younger years, he enjoyed the thrill of playing “chicken” and rebuilding vehicles. His love for his Harley Davidson took him and Linda on a memorable journey to South Dakota and back in 2009. Guy also had a deep appreciation for firearms and spent countless hours shooting and collecting them. Animals held a special place in Guy’s heart, a love that began in childhood and continued throughout his life. His family home was always filled with the warmth and companionship of dogs, cats, chickens, and other birds. Guy was a man who valued self-sufficiency, spending his later years tending to his garden, building chicken coops, canning vegetables, and perfecting the art of baking homemade bread from scratch. Though he was known for his large and intimidating stature, Guy’s heart was tender and filled with love. His stubbornness was matched only by his dedication to those he held dear. In his later years, he became more vocal about his affection, but his actions had always spoken volumes. Guy was predeceased by his father, Guy Fred Wheeler Sr., and his brother Jim Wheeler. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife Linda, his children Fred and Yolonda (Seth) and his siblings Larry (Aly), Joann, Mary (Dan), Mike (Marty), and Tina Archie. He was a proud grandfather to Madison, Brennan, Taylor, Blake and Dominick Wheeler. Elli Adams, (Breanna) Zachary Wheeler (also raised as his son) Ayden, and Dezmin Stahlhood, and a loving great-grandfather to Kyrie Poindexter and Zaelah Wheeler. Guy Fred Wheeler Jr. will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the countless lives he touched.
