It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Jenkins, who departed this world on July 8, 2026, at the age of 67. Guy was born on June 29, 1959, at Portland Adventist Hospital in Portland, Oregon, to parents George E. Jenkins and Beverly A. Hauser, both of whom predeceased him. Guy's journey was marked by a deep sense of duty, loyalty, and love, elements that defined not only his career but also his personal life. Guy was in the Sea Cadets during his junior high and first 2 years of high school. He joined the U.S. Army on July 6, 1976, where he completed his high school education through the military. Guy dedicated his life to serving his country, fulfilling his childhood dream of a military career. He served ten years in the Regular Army with three reenlistments, before continuing his service in the National Guard's Armor Division for an additional eight years. His exemplary service was recognized through numerous commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Award, Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Iraq Campaign Medal. While serving in Iraq, Guy faced imminent danger and sustained injuries that left him permanently disabled in 2004. Despite these challenges, his pride in serving his country never wavered. Beyond his military achievements, Guy was an avid fly fisherman, who found solace and joy in the peaceful rhythm of casting a line. His love for target shooting showcased his remarkable skill as a sharpshooter and expert pistol marksman. Among his many interests, Guy also enjoyed the thrill of computer games, where he found a virtual world to explore and conquer. Guy's heart was as vast as his humor was infectious. Known for his unique brand of wit, he had an uncanny ability to bring laughter to those around him. His kindness and dedication to staying connected with family and friends were constants in his life, even as he navigated the challenges of PTSD. Guy was a beloved husband to his wife, Edie, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. Their journey began on July 5, 1985, and together they built a life. He was survived by his son Allen and daughter-in-law Jennifer, and their 2 children Melise and Weylin. He is also survived by his three sisters, Linda, Nancy, and Lori. As we bid farewell to Guy, we remember who he was and honor the man and who he was. A man of unwavering dedication to his country and family. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. "We will all love and miss you," shares Guy's family, as they extend their gratitude to everyone for being here to honor his remarkable life. Rest in peace, dear Guy. Your legacy of love and service will continue to inspire us all.
