It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Gustavia Belle, who departed this world on October 6, 2026. Born on February 20, 1937, in the charming town of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Gustavia was a beacon of love, kindness, and resilience throughout her 89 years of life. Gustavia was the cherished daughter of TJ and Gussie Lute, whose values and spirit she carried with her every day. They preceded her in death, as did her dear sons, Roy Lee Belle and Jimmy Ray Belle. Though their absence left a profound void in her life, Gustavia’s strength and determination were remarkable, and she continued to honor their memories through her unwavering love and compassion for others. Gustavia’s life was a testament to her deep commitment to family, friends, and community. She was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and the extraordinary ability to make everyone feel at home. Her life was filled with the joyful moments of family gatherings, where her culinary talents and storytelling prowess were always the main attractions. She had an incredible gift for making others feel valued and heard, often providing a listening ear and wise counsel to those fortunate enough to know her.
