Guadalupe Lazos

July 19, 1931 — May 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Guadalupe Lazos, who departed peacefully on May 15, 2026, at the age of 94. Her journey began on July 19, 1931, in the warm embrace of Del Rio, Texas, and concluded with the same warmth, surrounded by the love of her family at her home. Guadalupe was a beacon of love and wit, known for her unique blend of sarcasm and affection that made every interaction with her memorable. Her spirit was as bright as the Texas sun and as enduring as the desert landscape she called home. She was predeceased by her cherished daughter, Elvia Armijo, and leaves behind a family that was her pride and joy: Maria Ramirez, Lupe Puentes, Gloria Lopez, and Jesus Cancino, her children who continue to carry her legacy of love and strength. A graduate of El Paso High School, Guadalupe valued education and instilled the importance of learning and curiosity in her family. Though she lived alone, she was never without the warmth of her family’s love, a testament to the bonds she nurtured throughout her life. Her home was a sanctuary for laughter, sharing, and the occasional playful banter, reflecting her vibrant personality. Her legacy is beautifully carried forward by her ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, whose lives are a testament to her enduring influence and love. Guadalupe found immense joy in spending time with her family, creating memories filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of warmth that only a mother's love can provide. A celebration of Guadalupe’s life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, located at 408 S Park St, El Paso, TX, 79901. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring a life that touched so many with kindness and humor. In this time of loss, we find solace in knowing that Guadalupe is reunited with her beloved husband and daughter, continuing her journey in a better place. Her family extends a heartfelt message: "Mom, we will dearly miss you but know that you are in a better place with Dad." Guadalupe Lazos leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and a reminder that life’s most precious moments are those spent with family. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
