May 9, 1943 — June 26, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Grover "Bo" Crawford, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend. Bo slipped peacefully from this world on June 26, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on May 9, 1943, in the picturesque city of Portland, Maine, Bo was the beloved son of Guy and Lillian Crawford. From a young age, Bo exemplified kindness and generosity, traits that would come to define him throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents and his cherished son, Brian Crawford and Bo Crawford whose memories he held close to his heart.
Bo dedicated his professional life as a foreman at a moving company, a role in which he showcased his exceptional leadership and unwavering work ethic. His career not only provided for his family but also built lifelong friendships and a reputation of reliability and integrity.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bo was a man of many passions. He was an avid fisherman, finding solace and joy on the water, where the world seemed to slow down and the beauty of nature unfolded around him. In his beloved shed, he spent countless hours crafting birdhouses and bins, his hands weaving love into every creation. A dedicated sports fan, Bo's heart beat in time with the triumphs and tribulations of his beloved Red Sox and Patriots.
At the core of Bo's legacy was his boundless kindness and generosity. He had an innate ability to connect with people, often spending hours on the phone with friends and family, ensuring everyone felt valued and heard. If something needed fixing, Bo was the man to call—his willingness to help was as dependable as the sunrise.
Bo leaves behind a family who cherished him dearly, including his children Richard Frost, Amanda Smith and her husband Paul Smith Holly Crawford, Dorothy McCollor, along with 14 adoring grandchildren who were the light of his life. He was a beacon of love, strength, and guidance for his family, always there with a listening ear or a helping hand.
In this time of sorrow, the family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the community that embraced Bo and supported him when he needed it most. A special thank you is extended to Gregg Lambert, Bo’s best friend, for his unwavering support and companionship over the years.
To everyone who knew him, Bo was more than just a friend; he was a confidant, a mentor, and a pillar of strength. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will forever live on in the stories and memories shared by those who loved him.
In the words of his family, "My father was loved by many and a special person to all. He will dearly be missed." As we bid farewell to Bo, may we carry forward his legacy of kindness and the many lessons he imparted through the example of his life.
A celebration of Bo's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor a man who touched so many lives. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity close to Bo's heart, in remembrance of a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
