October 10, 1964 — August 29, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Thompson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Gregory departed this world on August 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories. Born on October 10, 1964, in Anniston, Alabama, Gregory was the cherished son of Betty Swain Washington and Ray Thompson, and stepson to Guy Washington. Raised in the vibrant community of East Los Angeles, Gregory attended Covina High School where he shone both on the football field and as a member of the school band. These early experiences laid the foundation for a life filled with passion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Gregory devoted 25 years of his life to the open road as a truck driver, a career that exemplified his resilience and work ethic. He was a man who took pride in providing for his family, always ensuring their needs were met with love and care. Gregory's love and spirit are carried forward by his children: Gregory Thompson Jr., Terrell Colbert, Aaron Thompson, Deshawn Thompson, Kevion Thompson Sr., and Miracle Thompson. He was also a guiding light and godfather to Brittany Thompson and Darlinea Henderson. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Trashaun, Rayshawn, Promise, Contrell, Kevion Jr., Kyann, Latierra, Kandenise, Terraun Jr., Terriaun, Brooklynn, Aaron Jr., Kaliya, Yarhiness, Kalijah, Kei'Mari, and Ka'Mora. As a brother to Rodney Thompson, Timothy Washington, and Terrence Washington, Gregory's family ties were always strong and unbreakable. Gregory shared his life with two devoted spouses, Benita Colbert and Betty Rushing Thompson, and was blessed with numerous sister-in-laws who enriched his life with love and laughter. A service to celebrate Gregory’s life will be held on October 10, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Spirit Filled Family Church, located at 9980 Hesperia Rd, Hesperia, CA 92345. The family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Gregory’s memory. A special tribute from his daughter, Miracle Thompson, speaks to the profound impact Gregory had on those he loved. Her heartfelt words remind us of the enduring connection between a father and his children, a bond that transcends time and space. Gregory Thompson may have reached the end of his earthly journey, but he leaves behind a rich tapestry of love and cherished memories. His influence will continue to be felt in the lives of those he touched, reminding us that while he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts. Rest peacefully, Gregory. Your work here is done, but your love and legacy will live on forever.
