Gregory Smith

May 6, 1954 — October 26, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Smith, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed this life on October 26, 2026. Gregory was born on May 6, 1954, in the charming town of Minter, Alabama, to the late Wilson Smith Sr. and Hattie Smiley Smith. He was a man who embraced life with an infectious spirit and a heart full of kindness. Gregory was predeceased by his brother, Wil, yet his legacy is carried forward by his loving family. He leaves behind his cherished children, Pamela Snow Tubbs and her husband Harry, and Gregory Smith Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Quadarrius Snow, Shamyah Snow, Kaliyah Smith, and Amirah Smith, and a great-grandfather to Rylynn Snow, with another great-grandchild expected. Throughout his life, Gregory found joy in the simple pleasures, most notably in working on cars and playing dominoes. His passion for cars was not just a hobby but a lifelong love, reflecting his meticulous nature and keen attention to detail. Whether under the hood of a car or strategizing over a game of dominoes, Gregory's laughter and warmth were a constant presence. Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service to celebrate Gregory's life on November 7, 2026. While Gregory's physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who knew him. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Gregory. His generous spirit and love for helping others will live on through these contributions. Gregory Smith was a beacon of love and strength for his family and friends. As we honor his memory, we remember a man who lived life fully and whose legacy will forever remain in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Gregory Smith welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
