Gregory Marcus Wilson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on November 8, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, Greg was the son of the late J.W. and Lena Wilson, who instilled in him a profound love for family.
Greg's journey through life was marked by his genuine warmth. As a natural storyteller, he had an extraordinary ability to entertain those around him, often sharing tales that left everyone laughing and scratching their heads. His love for conversation was matched by his passion for giving advice, always with the best intentions at heart.
On November 15, 1994, Greg married the love of his life, Angela Renee Stanford. Together, they enjoyed the excitement that came with children, Janikka , Wynter, George,and jazzmin Over 32 years, Greg and Angela created an enduring partnership, as they faced life's challenges one day at a time. Greg also has
a host of nieces and nephews he loved to reminisce about.
Greg's heart was always full when surrounded by family and friends. He found immense joy in family gatherings. As an avid sports fan, Greg's passion for his favorite teams was well-known, and he often needed a day to recover from the disappointment of a loss. Fishing and long conversations about dogs were cherished pastimes that kept him talking to friends for hours.
He was a devoted grandfather to Kayla, Aniyah, Brooklyn, Tori, George Jr., Chloe, Mila, and Jalei, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Greg's presence in their lives was a guiding light, and he took great pride in watching them grow and flourish. He was also a sibling to Sister’s Deniece Roberson, Renita Phillips and Brother Derick jones
Gregory's life will be celebrated on August 30, 2026, at 4:30 PM at the Doss Park Activity Center, located at 2500 Frick Rd., Houston, TX 77038. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Greg are welcome to join in honoring his memory.
Gregory Marcus Wilson will be deeply missed, but his laughter, love, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
