In Loving Memory

Gregorio Lungay
June 10, 1925 — March 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gregorio Lungay, who departed this world on March 7, 2026, at the age of 100, after a sudden cardiac arrest. Gregorio was born on June 10, 1925, in the beautiful province of Bohol, Philippines. His life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and joyous shared moments that spanned a century.
Gregorio was a devoted husband to his beloved Teofila, with whom he shared nearly 75 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and together they raised two children, creating a home filled with warmth and happiness. Their journey together began in the Philippines, where they built a life rich in love and fond memories.
A man of the sea, Gregorio was a passionate fisherman who never missed the excitement of opening day. His love for the ocean was matched only by his love for the land, as he tended to his vegetable garden with dedication and care. Gregorio was known for sharing the fruits of his labor, particularly his prized tomatoes, with neighbors, further endearing himself to the community he cherished.
Gregorio's quick wit and warm smile were his trademarks. He had an uncanny ability to lighten any mood with a well-timed joke, and his infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone he met. His gift for making people feel welcome and valued was unparalleled, and his kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on the countless lives he touched.
His passing leaves a void that will not easily be filled, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Gregorio's legacy is one of love, kindness, and laughter—a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
A service to honor and celebrate Gregorio's remarkable life will be held on March 14, 2026, at 12:00 noon at St. Therese Mission, located at 881 E. Old Spanish Trail, Tecopa, CA 92389. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at St. Therese for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
