Greg sides

January 25, 1968 — May 22, 2026

Gregory "Greg" Sides, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on January 25, 1968, in Guys, Tennessee, Greg was a warm and vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with his humor, kindness, and spirited conversations. Greg was the cherished son of Barbara Ann Turnbo (née Wright) and the late Thomas “Bo” Sides. He is now reunited with his father and his infant brother, who predeceased him. Greg's legacy continues through his loving partner of 12 years, Marla Williams, his devoted children Jesie Sides, Logan Sides and his wife Heather, and Emily Sides, as well as his treasured five grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara, his brother, Chad Sides, an extensive extended family, and a wide circle of devoted friends. Greg's career was as colorful and varied as his personality. He held many different jobs throughout his lifetime, but his passion for driving and travel stood out among them all. He thrived on the adventures that came with the open road, always keen to explore new places and meet new people. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Greg loved to engage in spirited debates, often leaving those around him in stitches with his quick wit. He was a man who appreciated the simple pleasures in life, particularly a good meal shared with loved ones. Cornbread was a staple at his table, and he had a fondness for fried fish that was renowned among his family and friends. Conversely, his disdain for yogurt and avocados was legendary, often becoming the playful subject of many family jokes. Greg's life will be celebrated with a service at 7:58 a.m., a time chosen to reflect his unique character and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His passing leaves a profound void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends who will forever cherish the love and laughter he shared. As we remember Greg, let us carry forward his legacy of humor, love, and a zest for life. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of his father and brother in the beyond.
