With heavy hearts and profound respect, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Great Grandma Richardson on May 17, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on February 9, 1968, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, she graced us with her warmth, kindness, and an ever-present smile that touched the lives of all who knew her. Great Grandma was the cherished daughter of Tyler and Ania Richardson. Her journey through life was a testament to resilience and love, guided by a heart that was always caring, willing, and excited to spread joy. Her nurturing spirit was evident in the way she devoted herself to her family, creating a legacy of love that will forever be cherished. A graduate of Mary High School in 1983, Great Grandma embarked on a journey to further her education in college. However, life had other plans, and she embraced the role of a full-time mom with unwavering dedication, nurturing her daughter and grandmother, Sum Marjorie Richardson. Her decision to prioritize family over personal ambitions speaks volumes about her selfless nature and the deep love she held for those she cherished. Great Grandma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Great Grandad Mitchell, and her dear cousins, Gilbert and Marty. Though they are no longer with us, we find solace in knowing they are joyously reunited. Her legacy continues through her devoted family, which includes two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who are the blossoming branches of the family tree she so lovingly cultivated. Her memory will live on in their hearts, a guiding light and a source of strength. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. We ask for your understanding and respect for the family's desire for privacy during this difficult time. In a special message from her great-grandson, he writes, "Granny, this is your great-grandson. I love you and miss you every day. You're never not missed, and I think about you more than you know. I love you, Granny, I really do." Great Grandma Richardson's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, compassion, and resilience. Her legacy will forever inspire us to lead lives filled with kindness and unwavering love for family. As we bid her farewell, we hold her memory close, knowing that her spirit will continue to guide us through the days ahead. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
