In Loving Memory

Joel Hurtado
January 30, 1931 — April 20, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound respect, we celebrate the remarkable life of Grandpa, who peacefully departed from this world on April 20, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on January 30, 1931, in the vibrant city of Washington DC, he graced his family and community with a life filled with warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Grandpa was the cherished son of Lupe and Jesus Hurtado, who instilled in him the values of kindness and resilience, qualities that became the cornerstone of his character. Though he has now joined his beloved parents in eternal rest, their legacy continues through the lives he touched and the stories he shared.
Grandpa's life was a testament to the power of family. As a devoted father, he leaves behind his children, Joel, Susan, and Edgar, who were his pride and joy. He was a guiding light for them, offering support and encouragement at every turn. His love extended beyond his children to his siblings, Junior, Letty, Guadalupe, and Anna, with whom he shared countless memories and cherished bonds.
Blessed with a generous heart, Grandpa embraced his role as a grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren. To them, he was a source of endless stories, laughter, and love. His legacy continues through the values he imparted to each generation.
Throughout his life, Grandpa faced challenges with courage and grace. His battle with lung cancer was no exception. Even in his final days, he demonstrated immense strength, inspiring those around him with his resilience and spirit.
The family invites all who knew and loved Grandpa to join in a celebration of his life on April 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The service will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, located at 780 S State St, Hemet, CA 92543, United States. It will be a time to honor his memory, share stories of his kindness, and reflect on the indelible impact he made on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we say goodbye to this extraordinary man, we hold on to the memories he left behind, drawing comfort from the love and laughter he shared with us. Grandpa's legacy will forever be etched in our hearts, a reminder of a life well-lived, and a love that will never fade.
May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal embrace of the family who went before him, and may we carry his spirit forward in our own lives.
