In Loving Memory

Lucile Williams
September 13, 1938 — May 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Lucile Williams, who peacefully entered eternal rest on May 7, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on September 13, 1938, in Hollandale, Mississippi, Lucile was the cherished daughter of Dorothy and Earl Hudson. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
Lucile was the heart and soul of her family, a beacon of grace and resilience. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Joe Williams. Together, they built a life of enduring love and partnership that spanned more than six decades, until Joe's passing in 2023. Their union was blessed with seven children, who were the pride and joy of Lucile's life.
A devoted member of Hollandale Baptist Church since 1943, Lucile's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her commitment to God, family, and community was unwavering, and she found great joy in worship and fellowship. She was a woman of deep faith, whose wisdom and kindness touched all who knew her.
Lucile's life was marked by her love for the simple pleasures: cooking Sunday dinners, gardening, sewing, and filling her home with warmth and laughter. Her kitchen was always open, and everyone who entered felt welcomed and loved. Lucile's legacy is one of love, strength, and resilience, qualities she instilled in her family and those around her.
She is survived by her seven beloved children, eleven cherished grandchildren, and two adored great-grandchildren. Lucile also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will forever treasure her memory. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love will continue to guide them through generations.
Lucile was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joe Williams; her parents, Earl and Dorothy Hudson; and her dear sister, Shirley. Though she has left this world, we find comfort in knowing she was welcomed home by those she had loved and missed.
A celebration of Lucile's life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Hollandale Baptist Church, located at 106 East Ave N, Hollandale, MS 38748. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her remarkable life and the legacy she leaves behind.
As we say goodbye, we take solace in the words of her family: "Mama, your love was the glue that held our family together. Thank you for every sacrifice, every prayer, every warm meal, and every lesson you poured into us. Your strength and faith carried our family through both joyful and difficult times. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing your love will remain with us forever. We will continue to honor you by loving one another the way you loved us. Rest peacefully, Mama—your legacy lives on in all of us."
Lucile's love, wisdom, and spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends for years to come. Rest in peace, dear Lucile, knowing that you have left an indelible mark on all our lives.
