It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Grandma, who left this world on June 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. She was a cherished soul, born on April 28, 1962, in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California. She was 64 years old. Grandma was the devoted daughter of Anne Greene, who preceded her in death. She carried her mother's legacy with grace and strength, traits that were evident throughout her life. Perseverance was one of her most admirable qualities; she faced life's challenges with unwavering determination and an ever-present smile, a testament to her indomitable spirit. Grandma's presence was a beacon of joy and positivity. She was always happy, in a great mood, and her laughter was infectious to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness, resilience, and love, touching the hearts of those around her in immeasurable ways. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Shequila Barnes, who carries forward her mother’s legacy with pride and love. Grandma's heart was also filled with immense joy and pride for her three grandchildren, Johnisha Slater, Cyncere Slater, and Emari Mims, as well as one precious great-grandchild. Her family was her greatest treasure, and her love for them knew no bounds. Grandma's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on June 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Green Lawn Memorial Park, located at 1100 El Camino Real, Cola, CA. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to gather in remembrance of a life exceptionally lived. Together, we will honor her memory, share stories of her kindness, and find comfort in the legacy she leaves behind. While our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find solace in the memories that will forever live on in our hearts. As we bid farewell to Grandma, we hold tightly to the lessons she taught us—especially the profound strength of perseverance and the enduring power of love. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Grandma's name, as a tribute to her generous spirit and her commitment to helping others. Grandma, your light will continue to shine brightly in our lives, guiding us with love and warmth. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace.
