Edward was the beloved son of James Gill and Jennifer Bean, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms in the hereafter, alongside his dear predeceased family members Verna Hooper, Linda Branch, and Johnny Jones. Their spirits now reunited, they will watch over us with love.
Edward's life was a tapestry woven with dedication, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. He spent over two decades as a committed farmer and construction worker, contributing to the world with his hands and heart, before retiring to enjoy the fruits of his labor. His retirement years were a testament to his passions; he found joy in fishing and treasured every moment spent surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
For 25 beautiful years, Edward shared his life with his beloved wife, Lucy Gill, in Saint Paul, MN. Their union was a testament to partnership, love, and resilience, crafting a life filled with shared dreams and cherished memories. Edward's humor and vibrant personality were the cornerstone of their life together, providing countless moments of joy and laughter.
Edward's legacy extends through his expansive and loving family. He is survived by his devoted family members, including Johnny Jones, Aubrey Jones, Verna Hooper, Mildred Pegues, Linda Branch, Betty Green, Shirley Hooper, Pleasante Elliott, Alma Elliott, and Joanne Harvey. Edward was a proud grandfather to 25 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his spirit within them.
A celebration of Edward's life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Faith Temple Church, located at 10700 E Warren Ave, Detroit, MI 48214. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
