August 29, 1939 - March 31, 2026 It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Grandfather, on March 31, 2026, at the age of 86. Surrounded by the warmth and love of his family, he departed this world at his cherished home, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Born on August 29, 1939, Grandfather's life was a tapestry woven with vibrant stories, enduring love, and unwavering dedication. As a young man, he bravely served his country in the Korean War, where his courage and camaraderie left an indelible mark on those he served alongside. The values of honor, loyalty, and service that he embodied in those years became the cornerstone of the life he lived and the family he raised. Grandfather was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Carmen, who predeceased him in 2017. Together, they built a family grounded in love, respect, and humor—a testament to their shared journey and enduring partnership. Although Carmen's passing left a void in his heart, their love remained a guiding light for him and his family. He is survived by his loving children, Leon Julian, Migdalia Joubert, and Carlos Gomez, who each carry forward his spirit of kindness and strength. Grandfather's legacy also lives on in his cherished grandchildren, Selena Martinez, Anthony Julian, Elizabeth Gomez, and Sophia Guadalupe, who brought immense joy to his life. He delighted in watching them grow and embraced every opportunity to share his wisdom and humor with them. The next generation is already blessed with his great-grandchildren, who will undoubtedly be regaled with stories of his legendary sense of humor. Known as a jokester, Grandfather had an unparalleled ability to bring laughter and light to any room he entered. His infectious smile and quick wit were his trademarks, endearing him to friends, family, and even strangers. Fishing was his passion, a pastime that brought him peace and joy amidst the gentle lapping of water and the whisper of the wind. He often found solace and contentment by the water's edge, where he would cast his line and share stories with those fortunate enough to join him. A service to honor and celebrate Grandfather's remarkable life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 10:27 AM at Holy Name Church in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember and pay tribute to a man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and resilience. In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the memories we shared with Grandfather and the lessons he imparted. His legacy will continue to inspire us to live with courage, humor, and an unyielding love for family. As we bid farewell, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege of having known and loved such a remarkable man.
