May 18, 1941 – March 3, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Grace Rider, who left this world on March 3, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on May 18, 1941, in the charming town of Lucasville, Ohio, Grace was the cherished daughter of the late Clarence Labourne Colegrove and Mary Elizabeth (Pyle) Colegrove.
Grace was a beacon of love, faith, and resilience. Her life's journey was marked by the deep bonds she shared with her family and her unwavering faith as a devoted member of the New Freedom Community Church. Her life was a testament to the virtues of compassion, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Grace was preceded in death by her beloved husband, whose love she cherished and carried with her always, and her dear brothers, Tommy and Charles Colegrove, who she often spoke of with fondness and love. Though they are no longer with us, their memory lives on in her heart and in the stories she shared with her family.
She leaves behind a loving family who were the center of her world. She is survived by her three devoted sons, Wendell (Paula) Rider, Wayne (Hope) Rider, and Walter (Bonnie) Rider, who were her pride and joy. Her five grandchildren, Megan Rider, Zac Renfro, Ashley Robinson, Nathan Rider, and Sarah Rider, were her treasured jewels, each one bringing her immense happiness and pride.
Grace's legacy extends to her six great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Hicks, Caden Rider, Madison Rider, Logan Robinson, Evan Rider, and Elly Rider, who will carry forth her loving spirit and values. Her sisters, Betty (Darwin) Brigner and Mary (Jerry) Colley, shared in Grace's life journey, and their bond remained unbroken through the years.
Her nurturing spirit, wisdom, and humor touched many lives. Grace's warm smile and gentle nature left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her laughter, often heard during family gatherings, will echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of Grace's remarkable life will be held at New Freedom Community Church, where she found solace and community. As we gather to honor her memory, we remember her not with sorrow but with gratitude for the countless ways she enriched our lives.
Grace's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. We bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose life was a blessing to us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to New Freedom Community Church in Grace's memory, ensuring her spirit of generosity and faith continues to inspire others.
