Born on December 28, 1952, in the vibrant surroundings of Imo State, Nigeria, Grace was a beacon of strength and compassion in her family and community. She was the cherished daughter of Late Chief Thompson Okorie and Late Mrs. Cecilia Okorie, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and service to others. These values guided Grace throughout her life, particularly during her esteemed 35-year career with the Nigerian Customs Service. Rising to the rank of Superintendent of Customs, she retired in 2011, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and dedication that inspired countless colleagues. Grace was married to the love of her life, the Late Mr. Alexander Ogu Onyegbula. Together, they raised four wonderful children, nurturing them with love, wisdom, and a sense of purpose. She is survived by her devoted children, Nkechi, Chioma, and Anuri, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and perseverance. Her grandchildren, Demilade, Akachukwu, Kendra, Joseph, and Josephine, brought immense joy to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, passing on her stories and values to the next generation. Grace's life was a testament to the power of love and community. Her home was always open, offering warmth and guidance to family and friends alike. She was known for her generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her faith and her unwavering belief in the good in people were her guiding lights. A service celebrating Grace's remarkable life will be held on September 10, 2026, at 10:00. Family and friends will gather to honor her memory, remembering the profound impact she had on all who knew her.
