Grace Mae Barnes

May 18, 1960 — September 30, 2026

Grace Mae Barnes, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on May 18, 1960, in Atlanta, Georgia, Grace was a beacon of kindness and resilience, whose life was a testament to the strength of her faith and the warmth of her spirit. Grace was a beloved daughter and sister, preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harry Reese, her sister Gloria J. McCullom, and another sister who passed away in childbirth. Her legacy of love and devotion continues through her six children: April Barnes, Lorna Barnes, Cierra Dumpfire, Devonn Barnes, Dewoyne Barnes, and Cenica Barnes, all of whom reside in Gulfport, Mississippi. Grace's family was a source of great joy and pride for her, and she is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply feel her absence. A devout member of the Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi, Grace was baptized on February 14, 1982, and remained steadfast in her belief in God throughout her life. Her faith was reflected in her generous spirit and her unwavering dedication to her family and community. Grace found great pleasure in the simple joys of life. She had a green thumb and loved to plant flowers, as well as grow fresh fruits and vegetables. Her passion for gardening was matched only by her love for fishing, a pastime that brought her peace and a sense of connection to nature. A service to celebrate Grace's life will be held on October 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Grace are welcome to attend and honor her memory. The family of Mrs. Grace Barnes would like to express their sincere appreciation for the sympathy, prayers, and comforting words shared during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Grace's memory can be made to a charity or organization close to her heart. Grace Mae Barnes's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and dedication. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who knew her, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
