It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Lewis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on April 10, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on April 28, 1934, in the close-knit community of Smeaton, Saskatchewan, Gordon's life was a testament to dedication, love, and the enduring spirit of family. Gordon was the cherished son of Harold and Etta Lewis, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. He carried these lessons throughout his life, influencing all who knew him. Though he was predeceased by his parents, his beloved in-laws Kasmir and Jane Gill, and his dear son Terry Lewis, his legacy continues to thrive through his surviving family. In 1965, Gordon married the love of his life, Mary, embarking on a journey filled with love and partnership that spanned over six decades. Together, they built a life centered on the joys of raising their children, Barry (Penny) Lewis and Tracy (Quenton) McNutt. Gordon found immense joy in witnessing his family grow, always offering a guiding hand and a listening ear. Gordon's role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and he was affectionately known as "Grandpa" to his five grandchildren: Jordan (Dustin), Shelby (Mike), Clay, Ty, and Jayna. His legacy of love and warmth extends to his great-grandchildren, Maisyn and Wyatt, who brought him endless joy in his later years. Gordon's life was marked by his love for his community and his unwavering commitment to those he held dear. He was a man of quiet strength and gentle wisdom, qualities that touched the lives of many. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Gordon's life. Though the gathering will be intimate, the impact of his life will resonate far and wide, reminding us all of the power of love and family. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we hold onto the memories he gifted us, forever grateful for the time we shared. Gordon's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his beloved wife Mary, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to a charity of your choice in Gordon's honor, reflecting his generous spirit and love for community.
