In Loving Memory

Gordon George
May 8, 1966 — April 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Gordon George, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Gordon left this world on April 5, 2026, just shy of his 60th birthday, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on May 8, 1966, in the Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing, Gordon's journey through life was marked by warmth, creativity, and a boundless dedication to those he held dear.
Gordon was the cherished son of the late Agnes George and Gordon Comegan. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, grandmother Ruth George, his aunts Martha and Georgina Kirkrude, his uncles Brian and Louie Kirkrude, his sisters Evelyn, Betty, and Colleen George, and his brother Wayne Comegan. Despite these profound losses, Gordon found strength in his surviving family: his children Jocelyn, Lindsey, Starlette, and Haven, and his cherished grandchildren who filled his life with joy and purpose.
A man of many talents, Gordon worked tirelessly throughout his career. From his early days as a commercial fisherman to his skilled carpentry and plumbing work, Gordon's hands were never idle. He took immense pride in building his home alongside his brothers Micky and Albert, and his contributions to the community were countless, from cutting grass to lending a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Gordon was recently baptized by his dear friend Rob Weaver, a testament to his ever-evolving faith and the friendships he nurtured within the church. His hobbies reflected his creative spirit; he was a passionate wood burner and found solace in the simple beauty of nature, often spending peaceful days on the lake with his close friends Wes and Ardy.
Family was the cornerstone of Gordon's life. He shared many cherished moments with his brothers Micky, Sask, and Bradley, and their families. Music was a language of love he shared with his grandson Elgin, fostering in him confidence and strength. Gordon's heart swelled with pride at the achievements of his granddaughter Cadence, and he treasured playing chess with Lucianna and spoiling Lilly and Luci with treats.
Gordon's love extended beyond his immediate family. He held deep affection for Lindsey and her children, often expressing a longing to visit them in Quebec. His connection with his daughter Jocelyn was one of mutual respect and shared interests, while his time with Starlette and Haven was filled with laughter and memorable adventures.
Known for his storytelling and infectious laughter, Gordon's presence was a beacon of love and generosity. He had an innate ability to make people feel special, often through the meals he lovingly prepared. His dedication to his community and the joy he derived from helping others are a testament to his enduring legacy.
A service to celebrate Gordon's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 9:34 am at the Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing Community Hall in Morson, Ontario. Family, friends, and community members are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly remarkable man.
Gordon George will be remembered for his unwavering love, contagious spirit, and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him. As we say goodbye, we honor a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he touched.
