Gordon Davis

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Davis on August 1, 2026. Gordon was born on September 6, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to his loving parents, Horace and Pauline Davis. He grew up in a lively home alongside his parents, siblings and his beloved grandmother Ruth Jones. With a family that size, there was energy, many stories to share, laughter, and plenty of adventures to be had. Those early years helped shape Gordon's warm spirit, strong family values, and deep appreciation for spending time with the people he loved. He departed this life surrounded by the love of his family, including the love of his life Cynthia, their children, and grandchildren. This is a testament to the profound love and deep connections he nurtured throughout his life. Gordon was preceded in death by his cherished daughter Marlis, his beloved parents, his brothers Timothy, Ronald, Ricardo, and Horace, and his dear sister Darlene. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Cynthia, and his children Gordon, Kevin, Keonta, Farran, and Aaron, who will continue to carry forward his legacy. His grandchildren Isaiah, Ja-Lin, Marlis, Aryanna, Keonta, Kemonta, Kerianna, Vonyae, Jordan, Ariah, Selena, and Janna were the pride and joy of his later years, bringing him endless happiness and fulfillment. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Lolita and Carol Davis; His brother-in-law Michael (Kim) Thomas, and his sisters-in-law Gloria Jennings, Ramona (LeRoy) Lloyd, Jannie Williams, and Michelle Thomas. Gordon furthermore leaves behind a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends to cherish his memory. Gordon and Cynthia's love story began on December 29, 1972, when they were united in marriage in Waukegan, Illinois. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, cherished memories and countless blessings. Their enduring partnership, grounded in mutual respect, and unwavering devotion, served as an inspiration to all who knew them. For 30 years, Gordon dedicated himself to his career at Jeep in the inspection department, retiring in 2005. Known for his loving personality, open arms, and the ability to tell great stories, he had a remarkable gift for making those around him smile. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. Gordon was an avid fisherman, finding solace and joy in evenings spent on the water. A lover of horse racing, he embraced life with a passion for the simple pleasures that brought him peace and happiness.
