Golie Brian Patrick, 76, of Pinetop, Arizona passed peacefully into eternity September 16, 2026. He was born in Casa Grande, Arizona to Wallace B. Patrick and Merle Shupe on June 18, 1950. He was predeceased at age 5 by his mother, Merle and two sisters, 3-year old Kimberly Sue and 8-month old Cora Elizabeth. As an adult he was preceded in death by his Uncle Rob and Aunt Sybil Bartlemo, his paternal grandparents, Golie E. and Grace Bowie Patrick, his father, Wally and his step-mother , Jackie Patrick, all of Casa Grande, Arizona. “Brian” and his brother “Craig” grew up attending many schools following the work of their father who managed cotton gins.
He attended Casa Grande Union High School, Central Arizona College and the University of Arizona earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in vocational evaluation and rehabilitation. Before college he served 4 years as a medic in the U.S. Navy. After college he spent his career working with the White Mountain Apache people beginning with the Whiteriver Unified School District in the Special Education Department. He also worked for the White Mountain Apache Tribe and started their vocational skill center, from which the KNNB radio station was born. Brian then moved back to the school district becoming their Federal Programs Director. He was passionate about education and after he eventually retired, he loved being a K-12 substitute teacher in-person (and online during covid).
Brian was a man of many talents and interests finding much joy in gardening and landscaping his yard at home. He was active in his community over the years, serving on the property owner’s association board of directors and later, assisting in the process of purchasing the local water company for the community resulting in the creation of a water improvement district. He was an avid soccer dad and fan. He loved music of all kinds, creating many playlists while sitting on his porch. Known for wearing his distinctive hats, Brian’s quick wit and warm smile were as much a part of his character as his unyielding kindness, generosity, and extraordinary will to live life fully. He loved walking the Woodland Lake Park trail at 5am daily monitoring the painted rock snake’s growth and correct placement of the tail as well as painting a few of the rocks himself.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Terry, sons Golie Ryan (Ashley) Patrick, Thomas Ian (Emily) Patrick, grandson, Golie Dashiell Patrick, brother, Mitchell Craig (Deborah) Patrick and sister, Tina (Kevin) Jones.
Golie Brian Patrick’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church of Pinetop, located at 1901 E. White Mountain Blvd, Pinetop, AZ.

God’s Garden
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so He put His arms around you
and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you,
and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Special Thanks
Perhaps you sent a lovely card,
Or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a funeral spray,
If so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words,
As any friend could say.
Perhaps you were not there at all,
But prayed for us that day.
Whatever you did to console our heart,
We thank you so much
Whatever the part.
The Patrick family extends our profound and deep appreciation to each of you for the many expressions of love, kindness, and concern that you have so graciously extended to us during this time of bereavement. May God bless each of you and thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
