Born on October 22, 1928, in the vibrant city of New York, Gloria was the cherished daughter of Costas and Mary Nicholson. Gloria's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rocco Filoso, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 64 years, and her dear brother, Nicholas Nicholson. A devoted mother, Gloria is survived by her six loving children and their spouses, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and their spouses and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her warmth and generosity. Gloria's family was the heart of her world; she was a nurturing and welcoming presence in their lives, always ready with open arms and a kind word. Her professional journey saw her dedicating 20 years of service at Smithtown High School, where she left an indelible mark on the lives of many. After retirement, Gloria and Rocco moved to Myrtle Beach, where she embraced her passions for golf and painting, and found solace and joy in quilting. A woman of remarkable character, Gloria was known for her welcoming spirit and generous soul. She valued her role as a mother above all else, leaving a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her. Gloria's life will be celebrated at a service held at St William of York in Stafford, Virginia, a place that held significant meaning in her life.
