It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Gloria Marie Kopec, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend, on March 30, 2026. Born on January 29, 1943, in Stamford, Connecticut, Gloria's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She left this world in the comforting presence of her loving family at her home.
Gloria was the cherished daughter of Sabino and Alessendra (Borea) Melchionne. She was reunited in eternal peace with her parents, her loving husband Edward (Bud) Kopec, her precious granddaughter Christina Dawn Kopec, and her beloved brothers Frank and Sabino Melchionne.
A proud graduate of Stamford High School, Gloria's journey was one of dedication and warmth. She began her career as the Cafeteria Manager at Rippowam High School, where she touched the lives of countless students with her nurturing spirit and unmatched culinary skills. Her passion for food led her to embark on a delightful venture with her brother Sabino. Together, they founded Stamford's first food truck, "NY Pushcart," which graced the streets of Stamford, particularly Latham Park and various other beloved locations, until her retirement.
Gloria's legacy lives on through her devoted sons, Edward (and his wife Lisa), William, Johnny, and Dennis (and his wife Noelle) Kopec. She was a proud grandmother to four adoring grandchildren: Kelsey, Joseph, Tyler, and Avery Kopec, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind her dear nieces, Danette and Suzette Melchionne, several great nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law Kathleen Melchionne, who will all cherish her memory.
Known for her love of cooking and an enthusiastic follower of the latest culinary trends, Gloria found joy in collecting recipes from TikTok and sharing her creations with loved ones. Her kitchen was a haven of warmth and delicious aromas, a place where family and friends gathered to create lasting memories.
Gloria was a beacon of love, compassion, and kindness. Her gentle spirit and caring nature touched everyone she met. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Gloria's life will be held on April 2, 2026, at Bosaks Funeral Home, located at 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service can be accessed at www.bosakfuneralhome.com.
