Born on December 24, 1951, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Gloria was a cherished daughter to the late John F. Gilmore and Felice N. Nauseda. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Gloria was a woman of remarkable strength and warmth, known for her boundless energy and her ability to light up any room. Her journey began in the bustling neighborhoods of Chicago, where she was raised in a family that valued kindness and community. She carried these values into her own life, forever known as a social butterfly who cherished her family and friends deeply.
She pursued a career in nursing, earning her Bachelor's degree and dedicating her life to caring for others. Gloria began her esteemed career in the emergency department at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. Her dedication and expertise saw her transition into the operating room department, where she remained until her well-deserved retirement. Gloria's colleagues and patients remember her as a compassionate professional who brought comfort and healing to countless individuals.
Gloria's heart was vast and open, reflected in her love for animals and her passion for reading. She found solace and joy in the pages of books, embarking on countless adventures that fueled her imagination and broadened her horizons. Her home was always filled with furry companions, each one a testament to her nurturing spirit and unyielding love for all creatures.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Felice, and her dear husbands, Alexander Dewinski and Henry Bryant, with whom she shared many beautiful years. Her legacy continues through her devoted son, John Dewinski, and his wife, Stephanie, along with their precious son, Milo, who was the light of Gloria's life. She is also survived by her loving stepchildren, Jennifer L. (Eric) Bryant, Joshua A. (Tamara) Bryant, and Matthew C. (Corine) Bryant, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Gloria leaves behind her cherished sister, Connie Morgan, and her husband Michael, who shared a lifetime of memories and sisterly bonds. Her family and friends will forever remember Gloria for her laughter, her wisdom, and the boundless love she gave so freely.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Gloria's life, respecting her wishes for an intimate farewell surrounded by those she held dear. As we say goodbye to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate her life—a life filled with love, laughter, and endless compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Gloria’s name to a local animal shelter, a cause dear to her heart.
Though she may no longer walk among us, Gloria Marie Gilmore’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
