Gloria Elizabeth Guzman

March 17, 1944 — May 24, 2026

March 17, 1944 – May 24, 2026 With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Gloria Elizabeth Guzman, on May 24, 2026. Gloria departed this world surrounded by the love and care of her cherished son and daughter, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and unwavering love. Born on March 17, 1944, in the vibrant town of San Miguel, El Salvador, Gloria was the cherished daughter of Lucila and Leopoldo Herrera. She was the embodiment of grace and resilience, a beacon of strength within her family. Predeceased by her devoted husband Roberto, her parents, her two brothers, her younger sister, and her beloved granddaughter Ellie, Gloria now reunites with them in the eternal embrace of heaven. She joins Roberto in celebration of what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone in their eternal love story. Gloria's journey was one of dedication and adventure. For 32 years, she was a diligent and respected employee at Universal Studios, retiring in 2009 to embrace her passion for exploration. Her adventurous spirit led her across the globe, experiencing the wonders of the world—from the lush jungles of Central America to the majestic peaks of Patagonia, and the vast savannahs of Africa. Her travels were a testament to her unquenchable curiosity and zest for life. Beyond her wanderlust, Gloria was a pillar of generosity and compassion. Known for her selflessness, she gave freely to those in need, always ready with a helping hand or a thoughtful gift. Her appreciation for hard work was reflected in her support for others, ensuring that those around her felt valued and cherished. Gloria's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her devoted son Marvin and loving daughter Jennifer, who cared for her with unwavering devotion in her final days. Her legacy continues through her four treasured grandchildren—Taryn, Paige, Roberto, and Evangeline—who carry forward her spirit of adventure and kindness. She is also survived by her older sister Martha and her children, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. As we gather to honor Gloria's remarkable life, we invite family and friends to join us for a service celebrating her memory on June 12, 2026, at Robinson's Funeral Home, located at 9611 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037. The service will begin at 1:00 PM, where we will come together to share stories, laughter, and tears, celebrating the life of a truly extraordinary woman. In these moments of reflection, the family extends heartfelt gratitude to the extended family and Heart of Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Gloria's final days. Gloria's life was a tapestry of love, adventure, and generosity. Her spirit will forever illuminate the paths of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye, we carry her legacy forward, inspired by her courage to embrace life to the fullest and her endless capacity to love. May she rest in eternal peace, never forgotten, always loved.
