Gloria Elizabeth Edwards

January 18, 1942 — March 15, 2026

In loving memory of Evangelist Gloria Elizabeth Edwards, who departed this earthly realm on March 15, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Ann Arbor, Michigan, embraced by the love of her family. Gloria was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose life was a testament to unwavering faith, boundless love, and tireless service to others. Gloria was born on January 18, 1942, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Mary E. Moore and Percy Moore. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and brothers, Leroy, Richard, Louis, and Andrew Moore. Her sons, Theodore (Ted) J. Edwards, Christopher Edwards, Ralph Terry Edwards, and grandson, Trévon Davis, also await her in heavenly peace. In 1970, Gloria married the love of her life, Superintendent Charles P. Edwards, Jr., and together they shared 56 years of steadfast devotion. Their union bore a legacy of love and faith that includes their cherished daughters: Reba Ann Moore, Velesa (Matthew) Landrum, Missionary Gloria Lynn (Pastor Orlando) Haralson, Charlene Edwards, Ilene (Bud) Jones, Angela Gray, and Audra Lee (Rory) Pope. She is also survived by her sister Luenell Harden and an extended family of in-laws, including Florsteen Edwards and Bishop James (First Lady Marjorie) Edwards. Gloria's legacy continues through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Gloria's educational journey began at Ann Arbor High School, where she graduated in 1960. She went on to become a Certified First Assistant Surgical Technician at the University of Michigan Hospital. Her dedication to learning was further exemplified by her pursuit of Christian Training and Biblical Counseling at William Tyndale Bible College, reflecting her steadfast commitment to her faith and community. A devout member of New Hope Baptist Church, Gloria was an active participant in the church's Nurse's Guild and Pastor's Aide Committee. Her spiritual journey began under the guidance of the late Garther Roberson Sr. at the Second Baptist Church of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Her faith was deeply rooted, and she was a guiding light in the Southwest Michigan Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Women's Department and outreach programs. Gloria's life was marked by her deep compassion, tireless work ethic, and indomitable spirit. Known for her kindness, Gloria never met a stranger, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her love for gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren enriched her days. She was a "MOORE" through and through, proud of her heritage and the family she nurtured with love and care. Her family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Sister Kay Holcomb and Arbor Hospice for their compassionate support during her final days. As we celebrate the life of Gloria Elizabeth Edwards, we remember her as a beacon of faith, love, and service. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, reminding us to carry forward the lessons she taught us so well. Rest in peace, dear Gloria, knowing you were truly loved and will be forever missed.
