Gloria Adassa Mullings

June 10, 1945 — February 18, 2026

It is with both sadness and a profound sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Gloria Adassa Mullings, who departed this world on February 18, 2026, at the age of 80. Gloria passed away peacefully at her home in Lehigh Acres, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 10, 1945, in the vibrant community of Free Town, Clarendon, Jamaica, Gloria's journey through life was as rich and colorful as the land of her birth. The daughter of the late Martin Purdy and Isola Davis, Gloria was a beacon of love and kindness, traits she carried with her from her formative years. She received her primary education in Freetown and continued her secondary studies in Sandy Bay, Jamaica, setting the foundation for a lifetime of learning and service. Gloria's career was a testament to her nurturing spirit. She began as a cook in the restaurant industry, where she delighted many with her culinary talents, particularly her renowned fish and chicken recipes. Later in life, she found her true calling as a caregiver, a role that allowed her to extend her compassion and warmth to those in need. Her dedication to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family and her faith. A deeply spiritual woman, Gloria was an active member of the New Testament Church of God in Kingston, Jamaica. Her love for her faith was evident in her daily life as she found solace and joy in reading her Bible, singing hymns, and praying. Gloria’s quick wit and radiant smile were familiar to all who knew her, lighting up every room she entered. Family was Gloria's greatest joy and her proudest achievement. She is survived by her cherished twin sister and one brother, her devoted daughter, and a loving host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren—four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, in total. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to flourish through them. She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, and one sister, who now welcome her with open arms. Gloria's life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Her memory will forever inspire those she leaves behind, her impact felt in each life she touched. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life filled with grace and gratitude, a life that truly mattered. A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Gloria's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the New Testament Church of God in Kingston, Jamaica, in her memory. May Gloria Adassa Mullings rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever shining bright in our hearts.
