Gloria Aleja Crowder, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, in Frisco, Texas, at the age of 79. She was born on July 17, 1947, in McKinney, Texas, to Matilda Hernandez and Mary Pequeno.
Gloria was a woman who lived a good and meaningful life, creating memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She cherished her family deeply and found joy in the love and connection they shared.
Gloria married the love of her life, Freddie Crowder, on July 9, 1966, in Durant, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life and a family filled with love and memories that will be treasured forever.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freddie Crowder; her parents, Matilda Hernandez and Mary Pequeno; and her siblings, Adelmira Hernandez, Aurora Perez, Mary Thomas, Donald Yougas, Lupe Yougas, and Louisa Sanchez.
She leaves behind a loving family to carry on her memory, including her daughters, Jessica Wilcox and her husband, Mark, of Little Elm, and Glenda Slovacek and her husband, John, of Frisco, Texas. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughter, Lauren Slovacek, and Lauren’s fiancé, Kyle Rutledge, of Northlake, Texas.
Gloria is also survived by her sister, Rosie Martinez, and her brothers, Ruben Hernandez and Raymond Hernandez, along with extended family and dear friends who will forever remember her kindness, strength, and love.
Though Gloria’s passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will live on through her family, the stories they share, and the love she gave so freely. She lived a good life, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family and love.
