It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn J. Iski, who peacefully departed this world on March 1, 2026, just shy of his 66th birthday. Born on March 13, 1960, in Flint, Michigan, Glenn's journey was one of remarkable accomplishments, unwavering dedication, and boundless love. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Glenn was a devoted husband to Nancy Iski, with whom he shared nearly 22 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful family, which includes his beloved sons, Glenn Eric Iski (Wendy) and Gage Adam Iski, and his cherished stepdaughters, Heather Crane (Ray) and Kelly Pelc (Doug). Glenn’s heart was further filled with pride and joy by his grandchildren: Luke, Ryan, Travis, Alison, and Kennedy Iski, as well as his step-grandchildren, Lucian and Sonya Crane, and Shelby and Dominic Pelc. His sister, Pamela Caldwell, also survives him, providing a steadfast sibling bond throughout his life.
Glenn was predeceased by his parents, George Iski Sr. and Alma Maxine Diamond, as well as his brother, George Iski Jr., all of whom welcomed him into eternal peace.
A proud graduate of Carmen High School in Flint, Glenn followed his passion for mechanics into a prolific career as a Master Mechanic, specializing in the racing industry. His expertise and commitment to excellence led him to esteemed positions at McLaren Engines, Katech Engine Development, Ilmor Engineering, Argus Corporation, Arrow Racing, and Prefix Corporation. Glenn was revered for his work in Engine Track support for GM Racing programs, including the prestigious Lemans and Rolex Series, and as a pivotal contributor to Indy Car builds at Ilmor Engineering. In later years, he continued his craft at Arrow Racing and Prefix Corporation, where he generously shared his knowledge, mentoring many aspiring apprentices.
Beyond his professional achievements, Glenn was an enthusiast of life’s thrilling pursuits. He enjoyed the exhilarating world of Vintage Motorcycle Racing and cherished track days at Grattan Raceway and Gingerman Raceway with Sportbike Track Time. His adventurous spirit also led him to the snowy terrains of enduro snowmobile racing in his youth, a passion he maintained well into his later years. Glenn’s dedication extended to supporting the Karl Schwartz Race Team, where he played an integral role in sled builds and race crew operations.
In his younger days, Glenn graced the ice as a semi-professional hockey player, earning the affectionate nickname "The Sprinkler" while playing on the Katech and McLaren company-sponsored teams. His sporting talents and camaraderie were cherished by his teammates and friends alike.
Glenn's generous spirit extended beyond sports and mechanics to his work with the German Shepherd Rescue Association, where he diligently supported the welfare of these loyal companions.
Throughout his life, Glenn maintained a wide circle of friends, nurturing connections that spanned decades, including those from his high school days. His warmth, humor, and steadfast friendship left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to call him a friend.
A funeral mass will take place on April 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, located at 22412 Overlake Street, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080.
