Glenn Elkins

May 27, 1960 — May 2, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Glen Elkins, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Glen departed this world peacefully on May 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 65 years old. Born on May 27, 1960, in Canton, Ohio, Glenn was the beloved son of Charles and Nancy Elkins. From a young age, Glen exhibited a zest for life and a determination to make the most of every moment. His life was filled with joy and love, which set the foundation for a life characterized by kindness, dedication, and unwavering strength. Glen was a man of many talents and passions, but his greatest devotion was to his family. He was the loving husband of 44 years to Sherrie, his steadfast partner in all of life's adventures. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Glen was the proud father of two daughters, Shannon (Neil) Schmidt and Shaleen (Tyler) Kemp, who were the lights of his life. His role as a grandfather to Savannah and Sophia Schmidt brought him immeasurable joy, and his eyes would light up whenever he spoke of his precious granddaughters. He was the best Grampy! Throughout his life, Glen embodied the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He was a steadfast friend and confidant to many, always ready with a listening ear and a helping hand. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he faced the challenges of his illness with remarkable courage and grace, Glen's spirit remained unbroken. His resilience and determination in the face of adversity served as an inspiration to all who crossed his path. Even in his final days, he continued to share his warmth and wisdom, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his loved ones. Glenn is predeceased by his father, Charles Elkins, whose memory he cherished dearly. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory: his devoted wife, Sherrie; his daughters, Shannon and Shaleen, along with their spouses Neil and Tyler; his adored granddaughters, Savannah and Sophia; his mother, Nancy Elkins; and his brothers, who were his lifelong companions. In accordance with Glen's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Finefrock-Gordon Funeral home in Magnolia to honor and celebrate his remarkable life. While the ceremony is intimate, the love and admiration felt for Glen extends far beyond, touching the lives of all who knew him. As we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, we carry forward his legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. He will be remembered for the profound impact he had on the lives of his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
