In Loving Memory

Glenn Bunch
July 29, 1947 — May 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Glenn Bunch, who left this world peacefully on May 7, 2026, at the age of 78. Glenn was born on July 29, 1947, in Devonia, Tennessee, to his loving parents, Lola and Buddy Bunch. He was a beacon of warmth and resilience, whose life was woven with the threads of family, faith, and friendship.
A dedicated man of the community and a beloved father, Glenn's life was a testament to hard work and devotion. Educated at Rosedale Elementary and a proud graduate of Lake City High School, Glenn embarked on a career that would define him as a stalwart of his profession. He spent his entire working life in the coal mines, a testament to his strength and determination, providing for his family and creating a lasting legacy.
Glenn's heart was as vast as the fields he loved to garden, and his laughter resonated through flea markets where he spent many joyful hours with his friends. His passion for the simple pleasures of life was evident in his love for his two little dogs, Lucy and Lola, who brought him immense joy. It is a poignant testament to their bond that Lucy passed just a day before Glenn, a reminder of the deep connections he forged with those around him.
Glenn was a man of faith, deeply rooted in the Baptist tradition, and his voice was often heard shouting and praising his Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord. His faith was a guiding light, offering comfort and strength to all who knew him.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his cherished daughters, Jennifer Bunch and Anita L. Knight, his son-in-law, Jimmy Smith, and Gregory (John) Knight. He also mourned the loss of his sisters, Charlene Seiber and infant twin, Wanda, his brothers David "New River" Bunch, Earl and Becky Bunch, nephews Keith, Brian, Danny, nieces Charlotte Turner,Kathy Smith, and sister-in-law Kitty Bridges.
He is survived by his loving children: Ettie Jeanette Smith, Glenna Danielle Bunch, Amanda McGill (Daniel), and Craig Bunch (Daryll). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kayle Starnes (Jesse), James Michael Earl Smith (Kelli), Uriah Faith Smith, Judah Joseph Lee Hayes (Vaeh), Tyler Knight (Brittany), Abigail Bowling, Ashlyn Bowling (Jace), Brandon Bowling, Julie McGill, and Zoee McGill. Glenn was blessed with the joy of nine great-grandchildren: Dominic, Rosetta, Olivia Starnes, Eli and Ryleigh Cox, Noel Hayes, Makinzlee, Rayna, Joselee Knight, and step-grandson Kane.
His siblings, Pauline Greene (Manson), Ted Bunch (Teresa), Thomas Bunch (Kathy), Clarence Bunch (Mary), Edd Bunch (Angie), Lindon Bunch, and Robert Seiber, also mourn his passing, along with countless friends and extended family members who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Glenn shared a special chapter of his life with Pamela Boley, with whom he had four children. Though their marriage ended in 1992, the family they created remains a testament to their enduring bond.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Glenn Bunch, we remember a man whose heart was as vast as the fields he tended, whose spirit was as resilient as the coal he mined, and whose faith was as unshakable as the mountains that surrounded him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
May Glenn rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before him, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
