In Loving Memory

Glenda Gail Hindman
September 10, 1949 — April 23, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Glenda Gail Hindman on April 23, 2026. Glenda left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, joining her beloved husband, Jimmy, who departed just ten months prior. Together, they shared 57 beautiful years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love which began as high school sweethearts.
Born in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, on September 10, 1949, Glenda was the cherished daughter of Bonnie and Clyde Browning. She attended Frayser High School, where her tenacity and warmth forged lifelong friendships. Her career as a secretary and teacher's aide was marked by dedication and a nurturing spirit, touching the lives of many students and colleagues alike.
Glenda was a woman of remarkable strength and kindness, known for her talkative nature and unwavering determination. She had the unique ability to make every person she met feel seen and heard, often brightening their days with a spontaneous song—a testament to her love of music and her playful spirit.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Glenda is survived by her son, James Hindman, and his wife Alisia; her daughter, Somer Praytor, and her husband Matt. Her legacy lives on in her three adoring grandchildren, Lacey Halley (married to Michael), Kyle Hindman (married to Alexandria), and Maggie Praytor, as well as her two precious great-granddaughters, Lyla Jane Hindman and Brooke Elizabeth Halley.
Glenda found endless joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid reader, she faithfully followed The Commercial Appeal and TV Guide, keeping herself informed and entertained. She adored playing the piano and singing, often transforming everyday moments into musical memories. Her love for the sunshine and water was matched only by her fondness for chocolate and Coca-Cola, and her enthusiastic support for Memphis Tigers basketball and Alabama football was a constant source of excitement.
Above all, Glenda's greatest pride and joy was her family. She reveled in their accomplishments, big and small, and her heart swelled with love and pride as she watched them pursue their passions. Her legacy of love, laughter, and music will forever resonate in the lives of those she touched.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Glenda's life on April 27, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Munford Funeral Home-Millington Chapel. As we gather to honor her memory, we remember a woman whose life was a beautiful melody, filled with love, tenacity, and an unyielding zest for life. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
