It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Glenda Frances Prater, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, who departed this world peacefully on March 7, 2026, at Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN. Born on November 24, 1939, in Griffithville, AR, Glenda was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her 86 years. Glenda was the daughter of the late Clarence Bratcher and the late Gracie (Rice) Kirkpatrick. She was united in marriage to her late husband, Huey Dalton Prater, with whom she shared a life filled with love and dedication. Together, they cultivated a family and a home rich with laughter and cherished memories. As a devoted homemaker, Glenda's nurturing spirit was the foundation of her family. Her love for gardening transformed her yard into a vibrant tapestry of color and life, a testament to her patience and care. Whether she was tending to her flowers, engrossed in a captivating book, or unraveling the mysteries of her favorite true crime shows on Date Line, Glenda's curiosity and zest for life were ever present. Glenda's greatest joy came from her family. She was the proud mother of three daughters, Brenda (Dan) Douglas, Cathy Johnson, and Sherry Lynn Reddick, and one son, Ronnie (Lisa) Prater, all of Ripley, TN. Her legacy of love extends to her thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who she adored and who will carry forward her memory and values. Glenda was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Debra Ann Redfern, and two sons, Robert Joseph Prater and Michael Dalton Prater. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Walters, and her brothers, C.B. Bratcher, Oakley Bratcher, and Bobby Avery Bratcher. Though their absence is deeply felt, there is solace in knowing they are reunited once more. Her life will be celebrated on March 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM, where friends and family will gather to honor the indelible mark she left on their hearts and lives. As we remember Glenda, we celebrate a life well lived—one filled with grace, love, and an unwavering commitment to family.
