Glenda Faye Glinsey

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Faye Glinsey, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who departed this life on July 8, 2026, at the age of 69. Born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 20, 1956, Faye was the cherished daughter of the late Willie and Rose Lee Glinsey. Faye's journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to care and compassion. She graduated with the class of 1974 from Melrose High School before attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Her career was a testament to her dedication to helping others, and she devoted her life to being a foster parent, nurturing and guiding the lives of many children with her boundless patience and love. A woman of many interests, Faye found joy in cooking, traveling, and collecting antique art. Her home was a reflection of her passion for life and beauty, filled with treasures that told stories of her adventures and her artistic eye. Her kitchen was a haven for family and friends, where meals were shared and laughter echoed. Faye's presence in the world was a gift to those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Rose Lee, as well as her siblings Allen Glinsey and Debra King. She leaves behind her loving siblings, Gloria Chapman and Willie Jr. Glinsey, her cherished niece Elaine Anderson, and a multitude of other nieces, nephews, and dear friends including Phyllis Buehler and Melissa Krylowicz, all of whom will deeply miss her warmth and kindness. A celebration of Faye's life will take place at N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home, located at 12 South Pkwy W, Memphis, TN 38109. In honor of Faye's compassionate spirit and her commitment to making a difference, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, an organization dear to her heart. In the words of Liz Newman, "Her humor a harvest, her love gently blooms, her comforting presence still fills up a room." Faye was a gardener of souls, planting seeds of love and kindness wherever she went. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy will continue to blossom in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory is a garden of roses that we hold dear, and her spirit will forever be a beacon of light and care in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
