Glen L. Helton
May 15, 1943 — May 22, 2026
In loving memory of Glen L. Helton, who passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 83, at St Mary’s Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Glen was born on May 15, 1943, in the serene town of Russellville, Arkansas, to loving parents Delmer Dow Helton and Opal Meadows Helton. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his cherished brother, Larry Joe Helton.
Glen's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the quiet strength that came from a life well-lived. For many years, he worked as a logger and cattle farmer, professions that not only provided for his family but also connected him deeply to the land he loved. His work was more than a career; it was a passion that reflected his commitment to the natural world and his community.
Glen was a man of few words, but when he chose to speak, his words carried weight and wisdom. His quiet demeanor did not mask the depth of his love for his family and friends, with whom he treasured spending time. Weekends often found him at Helton’s Farm in Treat, Arkansas, where he enjoyed the company of those who came to canoe in Big Piney Creek. His presence was a gentle anchor for many, and his generosity of spirit touched all who knew him.
Glen leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever: his devoted wife of 57 years, Paulette Helton, and their three daughters, Michelle Floyd of Atkins, Karla Reynolds and her husband Scott of Jupiter, FL, and Yvonne Antes of Benton, KY. He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren, who were the light of his life and a source of immense joy.
A service to honor Glen's life will be held on May 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Shannon Cemetery in Treat, AR. Friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of a life that was as rich and full as the fields Glen tended with such devotion.
The Helton family extends heartfelt gratitude to Glen's dedicated caregiver, Anicia McMinn, and to the compassionate nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice for their unwavering support and care during Glen's illness.
Glen L. Helton's legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring connection to the beauty of the world around him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege to know him.
