Glen B. Rembert

Glen B. Rembert, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 3, 2026. Born on May 28, 1956, in San Angelo, Texas, Glen was the cherished son of Charles (Chuck) and Marylene Rembert. He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Charlene and Darlene, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that his family and friends will forever hold dear. Glen grew up in a household filled with warmth and encouragement, which shaped him into a man known for his heartfelt hugs and warm smile. He graduated from Henry Ford High School where he was an active and dedicated athlete who participated in football, basketball, and track. He took pride in representing his school and enjoyed the camaraderie, competition and friendships that came with being part of a team. He also was an active athlete while attending Wayne State University. He later pursued higher education at Elmira State College, where he earned a Bachelor's degree. His life of service began with a proud tenure in the U.S. Marines, where he served as both a Military Policeman and a Computer Operator. After his military service, Glen dedicated years to his community as a Deputy Sheriff Officer at the Wayne County Jail in Detroit, Michigan. Following his retirement, he continued to serve others in a meaningful way by working in Data Processing at the Veterans Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Glen's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He was previously married to La Shelle Rembert, and together they shared the joys of co-parenting their children, DeShaura and Charles. Although their paths diverged, they remained lifelong friends. Glen was later blessed with a devoted and beloved wife, Elizabeth Rembert, with whom he spent his remaining years. Together, they expanded their loving family to include bonus children, Kenyatta and Charles. Family was everything to Glen, and his heart was filled with pride for his children, DeShaura (Chuck), Charles, and Kevin, as well as his four cherished grandchildren, Tiarra, Tytiyana, Za'Nahla, and Ziare. He also leaves behind his brother, Alfonso, and nieces, Shanita (Joe), Tanesha, Tykesha, and Talesha, along with a great niece and nephews. Also leaves behind a very special cousin Jackie (Finnus), a host of aunts, uncles and cousins whose lives he touched with his enduring kindness and generosity. Glen's circle of love extended beyond his family to his close friends and the Emmanuel Church Community, where he was known for his welcoming nature and the ability to make everyone feel valued. He formed lasting friendships with fellow veterans, with whom he shared countless stories and laughter. An avid football fan, Glen delighted in the excitement of the game, cheering passionately for his favorite team. Whether it was enjoying a good movie, attending concerts, or engaging in a spirited game of dominoes and cards with his buddies, Glen embraced life's simple pleasures. Above all, he treasured the time spent with those he loved, creating lasting memories with his family and friends. Glen's life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. His legacy of generosity and joy will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. In honor of Glen's compassionate spirit, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, spreading love and support in his memory.
