May 1, 1971 — May 20, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Gladys Easterling, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many, who peacefully departed this world on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family and friends. Gladys was born on May 1, 1971, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late John and Mary Brown, whose love and values shaped her into the woman deeply admired by all who knew her. Gladys's journey was one of love, dedication, and unwavering faith. A graduate of Marlboro County High School in Bennettsville, South Carolina, she carried her youthful spirit and passion for life into every endeavor she undertook. Her life was a testament to the power of community and faith, as she faithfully served St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church from childhood into adulthood, dedicating over 20 years to the church community she held so dear. In November 2021, Gladys married the love of her life, Kennedy Easterling Sr., marking the beginning of a beautiful chapter filled with love, companionship, and shared dreams. Her devotion as a loving wife was paralleled by her nurturing roles as a mother and stepmother to her children: John L. Easterling, Johnnie Mae Douglas, and stepchildren Shamekia Easterling, Kennedy Easterling, and Katema Easterling. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she cherished the joy of being a grandmother to one grandchild and a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her heart. Gladys's life was a tapestry woven with threads of kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for those around her. Her legacy is one of generosity and service, as she continually extended a helping hand within her community, embodying the true spirit of friendship and neighborly love. As we celebrate Gladys's life, we remember her not only for her dedication to her family and faith but also for her infectious smile, her gentle wisdom, and her unwavering strength. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, yet her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her remarkable life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and respectfully requests privacy as they navigate their grief. Though she is no longer with us in body, Gladys Easterling's spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones and all those she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of her parents, John and Mary, who welcome her home.
