Giovanni Barbaccia

April 2, 2015 — August 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Giovanni "Gio" Barbaccia. Born on April 2, 2015, in West Nyack, New York, Giovanni was a radiant presence in our lives who left us far too soon on August 23, 2026. Gio was the cherished son of Nick and Danielle Barbaccia, who delighted in watching him grow and explore the world around him. Although non-verbal, Gio had an extraordinary ability to communicate through his expressive brown eyes and radiant smile. His understanding and awareness of the world were remarkable, and he shared his joy in ways that words could never fully capture. From an early age, Gio loved the simple pleasures of life. He was happiest outdoors, whether it was enjoying the thrill of a scooter ride or the refreshing embrace of a swimming pool. His laughter echoed through playgrounds and his joy was palpable during car or truck rides with his dad—moments that brought him immense happiness. Gio was a beloved student at Jesse Kaplan School, where he was affectionately known as "Gio" to his teachers and friends. His love for school was evident, and his presence brought warmth to the hearts of everyone who knew him. Though his time with us was brief, Gio's impact on our lives was profound. His beautiful spirit taught us the true meaning of love, resilience, and the power of a smile. We will forever cherish the memories of his laughter and the light he brought into our lives. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Gio’s life and the immense love he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Autism Speaks, an organization that is close to their hearts. Gio's legacy of love and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
