At the age of 77, Gilberto left behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
Born on December 1st, 1948, in the serene town of Vieques, Puerto Rico, Gilberto was the treasured son of the late Adela Santiago and Gilberto Santos. Raised in a home filled with love and laughter, he was instilled with values that would guide him throughout his life. Gilberto's early years in Vieques were marked by a deep connection to the natural beauty that surrounded him, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the simple joys of life.
In January of 1974, Gilberto married the love of his life, Clara Elena Santos Cortes, with whom he shared over five decades of unwavering devotion. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Gilberto and Clara's partnership served as a beacon of unity and strength, demonstrating to their children the true meaning of love and commitment.
Gilberto was the proud father of six remarkable children: Aldemar Santos, Clara Elena Santos, Omar Renee Santos, Yamara Marie Santos, Kari Anais Santos, and Shari Elizabeth Santos. His guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support provided a foundation upon which they flourished. As a father, he imparted wisdom, instilled values, and nurtured dreams, always ensuring that his children knew the depth of his love.
In addition to his role as a devoted family man, Gilberto found fulfillment in his career with Grad Union, where he dedicated countless years of service. Known for his strong work ethic and integrity, he was respected and admired by colleagues and friends alike. Gilberto's commitment to his work was surpassed only by his devotion to those he held dear.
A proud grandfather to six adoring grandchildren, Gilberto reveled in the joy of watching them grow, always present to share in their triumphs and support them through challenges. His legacy of love and wisdom will forever echo in their hearts.
Gilberto is survived by his loving wife, Clara, and their beloved children and grandchildren, who will continue to honor his memory by living lives grounded in the values he cherished. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light for his family and friends.
