It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we celebrate the life of Gilberto Martinez Samano, who passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2026. Born on February 18, 1932, in Cosala, Sinaloa, Mexico, Gilberto was a cherished beacon of faith and love, whose legacy will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. Gilberto was the beloved son of the late Erasmo Samano and Marina Martinez. He was predeceased by his sisters Maria Luisa Martinez and Bertha Arbiso, and his brother Roberto Valenzuela. Despite these losses, Gilberto remained a pillar of strength, grace, and kindness for his family. He leaves behind his devoted children: Racheal Araujo, Gilbert Samano, Jr., Elias Samano, Sr., Sem Samano, and Xochitl Gonzalez, each of whom carries forward his spirit and dedication to family. Gilberto was the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Elias Samano, Jr., Adriana Samano, Gilbert Samano III, Shem Samano, Aaron Samano, Eric Samano, Serena Samano, Ezra Samano, and Nathaniel Samano. His legacy further extends with ten great-grandchildren, who will undoubtedly inherit his love for God and family. Gilberto's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and commitment to his community. As a retired clergy and an active member of the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus for an astonishing 72 years, his influence and guidance were felt across generations. His ministry, spanning 65 years, was marked by his passion for teaching the word of God. He was a witty, happy, and quiet man whose great love for God was only matched by his love for his family. A memorial service to honor Gilberto's life will be held on September 28, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Templo Calvario in San Marcos, located on Smilax. Family, friends, and community members are invited to gather in remembrance of this remarkable man who touched so many lives with his grace and wisdom. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Gilberto's lifelong commitment to serving others.
