Gilberto Abrego

March 6, 1950 — May 31, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Gilberto Abrego, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on May 31, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on March 6, 1950, in the vibrant city of Guadalajara, Mexico, Gilberto lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know him. Gilberto was a man of immense warmth and kindness, known for his generous spirit and unwavering commitment to his family. He shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elia Abrego, a partnership that began in Mexico and blossomed into a lifelong journey filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they built a family rooted in love, raising three wonderful children—Ricardo, Gilberto, and Bertha—who were the pride and joy of his life. His legacy extends through the generations, as Gilberto was a devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to his days. His eyes would light up with joy at their successes, and he always had time for their stories, offering wisdom and encouragement with a gentle smile. As a father, Gilberto instilled in his children the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He was their guiding star, their confidant, and their greatest supporter. His love was unconditional, and his home was a haven of warmth and acceptance where laughter was always welcome and love was abundant. Gilberto found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was tending to his garden, sharing stories of his youth in Guadalajara, or gathering with family and friends for meals filled with love and laughter. His passion for life was contagious, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know him. A service to honor Gilberto's remarkable life will be held on June 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Siam Funeral and Repatriation. It will be a time to celebrate the extraordinary life of a man who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all. In these moments of sadness, we find comfort in the memories that Gilberto leaves behind—a testament to a life lived with love, grace, and an unwavering dedication to family. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched, as we carry forward the beautiful legacy of love and compassion he has left us. Rest in peace, dear Gilberto. You will be forever cherished and remembered.

Death Is Nothing at All

Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well.

Special Thanks

The family of Gilberto Abrego extends heartfelt gratitude for your prayers, support, and kindness during this time.
