Gerardo (Jerry) Vasquez, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on January 20, 1968, in El Paso, TX, Jerry was the cherished son of Refugio and Lucy Vasquez. His life was a testament to love, perseverance, and a spirit that embraced every moment with warmth and enthusiasm. Jerry was a devoted family man, loved by his wife, Renee, with whom he shared a life filled with love and laughter. He is also survived by his sons Tony Vasquez, Lorenzo Vasquez (Zoraida), Jerry Vasquez and his step children Jerry Hoverman (Ally), Nicole Bustamante (Mike) and Jessica Cota (Claudio) who carry forward his legacy with pride and devotion. Jerry's heart was also filled with joy by the presence of his 17 grandchildren, each of whom lit up his world with their smiles and laughter. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Jerry's passion for the team was matched only by his love for gathering family and friends to cheer them on. Sundays at the Vasquez home were a time of camaraderie and joy, with Jerry at the center, sharing stories, laughter, and his unwavering support for his team, win or lose. Beyond football, Jerry was a man of many interests. He found great joy in restoring old cars, breathing new life into them with his skilled hands and creative vision. His pride and joy, a meticulously restored Harley Davidson, was a testament to his craftsmanship and love for the open road. Jerry's memory will be cherished by his siblings, Roxanne Murillo (Danny), Rene Vasquez (Jennifer), and Paul Vasquez, who remember him as a constant source of strength and support, along with his many nephews and nieces. His life touched many, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
