Geraldine "Jerri" Johnson

Geraldine "Jerri" Johnson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 16, 1950 in Logan, West Virginia, to Joseph and Maxine Shilot, Jerri was loved by all. Jerri's life was a testament to the power of love and commitment. She met the love of her life, Tom Johnson, and they were married on February 24, 1968. Together, they shared 58 beautiful years, filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering dedication to each other. Their union was blessed with two children, Tabby and Joe, and later expanded to include Joe's wife, Amanda. Jerri's heart was further enriched by her cherished grandchildren, Emery, Jake, Ainsley, and Luke. As a homemaker, Jerri dedicated her life to nurturing her family with love and care, creating a home that was welcoming for all who entered. She found joy in watching her children and grandchildren's sports games and always enjoyed trips to the casino with Tom. Jerri was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Maxine Shilot, but is survived by her adoring husband, Tom, her children, grandchildren, her siblings: Marge, Ron (Pam), Connie (Tim), Sam (Debbie), Paul (Vicki), and Bill (Judy), sister-in-laws Carole and Cathy and many nieces and nephews. Her legacy of love and resilience will be carried on by each of them. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University and Hospice of Central Ohio for their compassionate care during Jerri's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice Of Central Ohio, located in Newark, OH, in memory of Jerri's life and the incredible care she received. Per Jerri's wishes no services will be held.
