Geraldine peacefully departed this world on July 18, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 4, 1937, in Washington, DC, she was the cherished daughter of the late William and Joanna Henderson. Geraldine was a beacon of joy and wit, known for her intelligence and her ability to infuse laughter into the lives of those around her. She was educated at Banneker High School in Washington, DC, where her bright mind and kind spirit began to shine. She went on to touch many lives through her work as a home delivery aide for the United Planning Organization, where she spent years delivering meals and spreading love to senior citizens across the community. In her personal life, Geraldine was a devoted wife to Ronald Williams. They were united by marriage on 10/15/2010 with love and shared laughter, and together they built a life filled with cherished memories., The impact of their union is felt deeply by all who knew them. Geraldine was also a loving mother to her predeceased children, Edward Douglas, Terry Douglas, Stephanie Hunnicut, and Michael Douglas, and a proud grandmother to three adoring grandchildren. Her family was her world, and she embraced every moment spent with them. Geraldine’s home was often filled with the sounds of jazz music and the lively chatter of friends and family. She had a special talent for bringing people together, whether through her love of playing cards or hosting gatherings that would naturally evolve into heartfelt conversations. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter. In addition to her immediate family, Geraldine is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Williams, her beloved niece, Stacey Clark, and a host of other family members who will continue to honor her legacy. She was predeceased by her siblings, Calvin Henderson, Doris Henderson, Catherine Young, Joanne Simpson, and William Henderson II. Geraldine was a valued member of her church, where she found community and spiritual nourishment. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort. Geraldine’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and the enduring power of community. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
